REAL HORSEPOWER
Elliott’s story begins just after the First World War, when brothers F.R. and A.J. Elliott set up in business as coal haulers and general haulage merchants, serving Cheltenham and the surrounding area. True to the era, they started with real horsepower – horse-drawn carts were the backbone of the operation before the age of the lorry.
As the business grew, the horses were gradually phased out and replaced by a fleet of trucks, and in 1931 the brothers purchased their first Chevrolet, marking the beginning of a long and successful partnership with local supplier Haines & Strange Ltd. The company was formalised as Elliott Bros (Cheltenham) Ltd, with the next generation of the family stepping up as directors and helping to expand services into waste disposal and aggregates.

Today, more than a century on from those humble beginnings, the business is run by Nick and Steve Elliott – third generation owners who continue to build on the foundations laid by their great-uncles.
Now trading as Elliott’s (Cheltenham) Ltd and based in Bishops Cleeve, the company provides skip hire, aggregate supply and grab hire to customers across Gloucestershire, combining the reliability of a long-established family firm with a modern fleet and a commitment to getting the job done.

SKIP HIRE
Whether you’re clearing household waste, managing a construction project or handling commercial waste removal, Elliotts Skip Hire offers reliable skip sizes with prompt delivery and collection across the local area.
GRAB HIRE
Make life easier by having your inert waste loaded and taken away for you. Our lorry can take 16 tons at a time of soil, muck and hardcore. It can grab over walls and fences making it easier for you to stockpile your waste ready for collection.
RECYCLING
We are Registered Waste Carriers and operate our own licensed Waste Transfer Station where all our Skip Waste is processed. We achieve a Recycling rate of 75%, meaning only 25% of the waste we collect goes into Landfill.
We aim to recycle the majority of rubbish that we collect from our customers including cardboard/paper, metal, plastic and much more.
